God help me, but I actually enjoy watching Hannah Montana



Before this seems to descend into perversion and twisted fantasy, let me just say there are some profound lessons in female psychology that explain the crazy popularity of this show and of Miley Cyrus(who plays “Hannah”). In case you didn’t know it, the Disney Channel show has 2/3 of every girl between 6 and 14 watching, and Cyrus’ 54 city concert tour sold out in minutes, with desperate parents now paying scalpers thousands of dollars for seats

Listen: the show is about Miley Stewart, who by day is a nerdy, average high school girl, but by night is “Hannah Montana”, pop-star singing sensation. She hides her secret life of popularity, power, adulation, high-fashion etc from her friends at school, because she just wants to be treated like a “normal” girl.



Here is the thing: the show taps into the powerful female fantasy of having a secret life; of appearing to conform to the normal “rules” and ways of living, but in secret, having fantasy, adventure, and all the things girls that age crave.

As women age, the content of those fantasies may change, but the overall fantasy of having a “double life” and the notion of hiding secrets from friends is HUGE. So do you think a girl who has a boyfriend who makes her appear normal to her friends-like a “Miley”-might be open to a lover who makes her feel like she is hiding a powerful secret life as “Hannah”?



I surely do. As I teach in the Home Study Course capturing and leading a woman’s imagination and knowing how to trigger her fantasies is crucial!

Women may grow up. But the mechanisms are always there.

If you are an “older” guy then trying to “date” younger women is the dumbest, dumb-ass, idiotic thing you could even attempt to do.



Listen: I just got this email from a guy who likes younger gals. Read on:

“Like you I am a middle aged man who very much appreciates younger women, may I dare say even some of the coeds at my old alma mater (USC), simply because they are more visually appealing to me as well as having less emotional baggage. But I am worried they will think I am a bit of a pervert for following through on pickups due to the age difference. Too bad, I think they miss out on the pleasures of being made love to by a mature man. (Amazingly, I hear about a lot of twenty year old guys who fantasize about having sex with middle aged women!) Do you have any techniques to overcome their initial resistance to dating a man that is old enough to be their father? Mike”

Now, the problem with this guy is he is thinking in terms of “dating” instead of getting sexual without dating. The problem with “dating” is that young women are going to put him through all of their checklists and social approval requirements-what will her friends think, etc etc.

Never ask a young woman out on a “date”. Instead intrigue her with how you capture and lead her imagination and emotions, how you understand her inner world of desire, fantasy, her need to surrender to powerful experiences, escape etc. Learn how here:

Hang out, meet for coffee-no problem. Ideal. But get the image of picking her up, driving to a restaurant etc out of your mind.
